Why DABGO
The possibilities for networking globally have never been better than after the introduction of online business networking services. “Danes Abroad Business Group Online” - in short DABGO - takes full advantage of the internet’s opportunities and offers a service that creates a strong Danish visibility across geography and existing local network groups.

The History
Founded in New York, USA in 2006 by Jesper Løvendahl and taken globally in 2007 in corporation with partner and DABGO Switzerland founder Dan Trampedach.

The Mission
Is through a core of Internet based tools and local in person activities and events to create opportunities for Danes by strengthening theirs – and thereby Denmark’s – network and relations internationally. And also to motivate members to network more effectively and not least to make Danes abroad active ambassadors for Denmark as a good place to do business and make investments.

The Vision
Is to be active and engaged in at least the 20 most important Danish export markets and have a total 25.000 members before year 2010, and thereby actively contribute to the best possible foundation for Danish export, acceleration of Danish business people’s international career opportunities and increase international investments in Denmark.

In 5 years DABGO will be the place where all serious Danish business people abroad and in Denmark with relevant international experience will be visible – a Danish international knowledge- and experience universe.

Jesper Løvendahl

Jesper has many years of experience with international sales and marketing. He works for the Danish digital ad agency VerticPortals where he is responsible for the company’s New York office and US operation. He is also President for The Danish American Chamber of Commerce in New York. Jesper has direct international experience from living in Singapore, Munich and New York.
Henrik Hansen

Henrik Hansen is a seasoned executive with more than 15 years of practical experience building and growing Danish and American companies in the North American market. His experience includes Danish Hempel as well as an American Consulting company and a Marketing company. Henrik continues to focus his time and effort on developing both private companies as well as the DABGO organization.

Eva Beim Wind

Eva has been working with promoting Danish key competencies and attracting foreign companies and investors for quite a few years now; working mainly with the Information- and Communications Technology industry, past experiences span from Greenfield establishments to acquisitions and joint ventures. Before leaving Denmark, Eva had the pleasure of coordinating Invest in Denmark’s cooperation with the Danish Regions, drawing more jobs to the western part of Denmark.

Eva recently joined Invest in Denmark’s Silicon Valley team and is now actively working with key clients to create new American knowledge intensive jobs in Denmark.
Jonas Olsen

Jonas has been in the US since 2000 and spent a majority of his time there as an executive with a small startup in the satellite communications space. His work there led to travel all over the world, including Africa, the Middle East, South America and Russia. Jonas lives with his wife and two kids near San Diego, California. He holds a Masters degree from Copenhagen Business School.

Lars is a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Los Angeles who provides counsel to individuals and small businesses. The services he offers include comprehensive financially planning, investment, protection and tax planning, retirement and estate planning and 401(k) management and small business executive benefit planning.  Prior to joining Ameriprise Financial in 2001, Lars was a CFO and Marketing Executive in the financial and direct marketing industries.  Lars resides in West Los Angeles with his wife and three children.  He is a graduate of Copenhagen Business School and has lived in the United States since 1983.

Justin’s international experience began early on. Justin was born in Sydney, Australia and relocated to Denmark at a young age. He has a chef education from a Michelin star restaurant in Denmark. He served for a year as a United Nations’ Peacekeeper in Bosnia/Croatia. He was chef to the Danish ambassadors to Spain and the United States. Justin was also Regional Chef Adviser for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and, for several years, was an Executive Chef for Corporate Dining with Sodexho, Seasons Culinary Services, Inc. and Bon Appétit Management Company. Justin is a business owner and real estate consultant in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Birgitte P. S. Jacky relocated to Los Angeles in January 2007 to do a Post.doc on depression and dopamine receptors with Professor Emiliana Borrelli at University of California, Irvine (UCI). The project was funded by the Lundbeck foundation. In January 2008 she was offered a position as a scientist at the neurotoxin group at Allergan, which she accepted. Birgitte is now part of the basic research team at Allergan doing research on BOTOX. Birgitte has PhD in Molecular Pharmacology and Nano-Science from University of Copenhagen and has studied G-protein coupled receptors and scaffolding proteins with Professor Thue W. Schwartz at the Panum Institute.

Christian relocated to Vancouver, B.C since 2006, in order to pursue his career within IBM as well as giving his family of six a broader perspective on life in general. Building on a strong foundation as an auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co, he initially utilized his degree in accounting and financial management, HD(R) holding traditional financial controller functions working for export oriented companies. Later Christian moved into software and IT sales and consultant postitions. A MBA degree from Copenhagen Business School with focus on Global eBusiness Management took him to IBM in 2002.

Soren is a partner of the international law firm Baker Botts L.L.P. He advises businesses in transactional and corporate matters, and has substantial experience in advising Danish companies in U.S. legal matters. Soren is licensed to practice law in both the U.S. and Denmark, and holds law degrees from Aarhus University, King’s College London and Tulane University. He lives in Dallas with his wife and two children.
